Everything that can go wrong has gone wrong in 2022. It does not matter how you visualize or trade, the likelihood of you going wrong has been extremely high. And so in this kind of market, if one sector stands out then it does need attention. I am glad I covered it. This is one of the most brutal market I have seen over the last 15 years. A large number of growth stocks are down 80% from highs but there is no bottom in sight. The stocks continue declining. This is the kind of market that teaches us the importance of being disciplined in the trading process.
The market is nervous. This is no longer news but a new trend in 2022. Year to Date:
It looked like things are getting better but then tensions are up again after Ukraine accused pro-Russian separatists of attacking a village near the border. The Good news is that despite the market decline, it’s holding up the inflation + end of pandemic trades.
The price action has become quite interesting. The headline continues to be bad on inflation, geopolitics, and rate hikes. But the market is doing an interesting churn and new winners are emerging. Thankfully, the relentless focus has helped and our trading stocks are doing well especially inflation and the end of pandemic trade. S&P500 is up 1% but if you scratch the surface, the market continues to witness selling at the highs. It just proves the idea that most of the events are noise and they do not set the trend in motion.
